    Hardtop Glass Cloudy

The plexiglass on the C2 hardtop is cloudy due to scratches and age. Is there any cleaning compound that may reduce some of the cloudiness and improve visability? Thanks for your help.

I have used regular rubbing compound to revive plexiglass. There is probably some polishing compound made specifically for this, but I have made a couple of them look a whole lot better with the stuff intended for paint.

I believe Eastwood sells plexiglass buffing compound along with buffing pads that fit your drill motor or dotco.

I haven't tried these yet, but plan to.....someday, I promise.

You can use 1500 to 2500 wet sand paper to remove most damage, then using a buffer with a mild polishing compound finish it. I did it on my bubble top 55 corvette and it came out %99 like new.Send me an E-Mail and I'll send a pic. to prove it.

3M has a product just for plexiglass available at most of the large retail auto part box stores. I bought some but haven't used it yet. Typically 3M stuff is good though.

            Peter,
Check out Glassworks-The Hardtop Shop. I picked up an acrylic aircraft polish and sealant off them a few years ago that did wonders on my glass. I also picked up some 210 plus to finish it up with. Neither item was cheap, but it did work. If anything, they'll be able to direct you further. I've also seen good results from methods similar to Rays technique. Good luck! Glassworks- 1-888-340-7812 Regards, Jon
