Air filter for a C3 LS5

I have a 1972 vette LS5 M40. The 454 has seen better days but runs well and is "under restoration". Towards this effort I am looking for the whole air filter system that sits on top of the carburetor. The previous owner removed the whole air filter and slapped on one of those round cans with the filter exposed between the tin, looks like an oreo cookie. I am searching for an original one and would like any help. This is my first post and I am looking forward to getting involved on the forum.

The 1972 "dual snorkel" air cleaner for your application, GM #6485887, was discontinued from GM a long time ago. So, here are your options as I see it:

1) look for a good used example. Sources like eBay or Corvette swap meets will be your best bet. This was a Corvette-only piece, so you can't obtain one from any other donor car. You might also obtain one from a used Corvette parts dealer like Pacific Corvette of Puyallup, WA, Paragon Vintage of Swartz Creek, MI, or others;

2) obtain a reproduction piece ffrom sources like Dr. Rebuild, Paragon, Corvette Central or others.
