    1969 Blower Motor Resistor

The blower motor resistor that is currently on my '69 350 hp a/c car is a "flesh" color. The one I just purchased to replace it is black. What color were these out if the factory? Will I lose points with the wrong color?

Somehow or another, I missed this one earlier. The resistor used in PRODUCTION for A/C blower motors had, as you described, a "flesh colored" flange. This piece has been GM-discontinued for a lot of years, so the one that you purrchased must be a reproduction with an incorrect flange color. You might be able to salvage the original flange and attach it to the new resistor so that the unit will appear correct. I think that these flanges are attached to the resistor unit with small rivets, if I recall correctly. So, perhaps you could drill out the rivets, exchange the flanges, and install new rivets.

Would you lose points for the replacement you have as-is ? I don't know, but I expect so.
