Re: 67 Coupe rear script
Rick----
As far as I know, the original GM panels were pre-drilled for the emblem mounting posts, so GM didn't publish any specifications for the mounting locations. I'm sure it's probably on the blue-print for the part, but I wouldn't know how to get a copy of that. The best and easiest way would be to have someone with a 67 who currently has the emblem off make a template, using the fender "creases" as locating points. This would be very simple for someone to do who has a 67 without the emblems currently installed. There must be a member out there with a car in that condition. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 67 Coupe rear script
Rick-
I have a 1966 coupe presently under restoration with the rear script removed from the body. Do you know if the 1966 and 1967 rear script holes were drilled the same? If so, I can get you the 'template' measurements. Please let me know.- Top

Re: 67 Coupe rear script
66 and 67 scripts and locations are the same. I also have a 66 with script emblem currently removed that can be used as a template. If your car still has orig glass try and look from the bottom to see if orig holes are still visible.

Re: 67 Coupe rear script
Thanks for the help guys. There are two sets of holes there at the present time so I can't tell which if any,are correct. A template would really help but I don't know of anyone up here in Montreal who has or could make one now. Any help from a 66 or 67 would be very much welcome. Thanks.- Top

Re: 67 Coupe rear script
Rick-
I took measurements tonight on my 1966 coupe. Both numbers are to the center hole of the emblem, as you can use the emblem to project the other 4 holes from the center.
1. From the centerline of the center hole to the peak of the right outside fender: 9-7/16". This measurement was taken perpendicular to the vehicle's front/rear axis.
2. From the centerline of the center hole to the peak above the tail lights: 7-1/16". This measurement was taken parallel to the vehicle's front/rear axis.
I hope this helps.- Top
