Trying to remove a '66 door panel. Having trouble getting the door lock button off using the same tool that takes off the window cranks. The button sits in a recess and I am concerned that I will tear up the door panel if I try to pry the "tool" under the door button. There must be a technique that works. Can anyone help?

Re: Mid Year Door Panel Lock Button
Someone may have a "neat" method, but I just had to really push in the material with my fingers to work the tool into place. Was a bit of a problem to get it off like you say. Some of the door panels are really stiff and I found that the hole may not be correctly placed either. These don't make it any easier.- Top

Re: Mid Year Door Panel Lock Button
If you don't have a pick I made one from a coathanger. Cut the hanger at the 30 deg angle end with a little 1/8" long nub (pick)that won't flex. Straight shaft about 4" long and form the other end into a 1" dia ring for pulling and twisting.- Top
