    1970 Front bearings

Hello, doing front brakes service I found front bearings in right wheel of my 70 are faulty. Which are correct sizes or dimensions for both inner and outer? Are Corvette only items or, as I suspect, more usual ones installed in other cars of the era? Although I have my old ones to check I would like to know the facts. Thanks and congratulations for the board, its fantastic! All my best from Argentina, Roberto NCRS #30019 RMC

    Roberto----

These are very common and easy to find bearings; they were used on a wide array of applications in both cars and light trucks. I'll bet you won't even have trouble finding these in Argentina.

The outer bearings are currently GM #457049. However, in the bearing trade, this bearing set is known as "Set 3" or "S3". The inner bearing is GM #457052 and, in the bearing trade is known as "Set 5" or "S5". Timken produces an excellent quality bearing and these are primarily what I use since GM stopped producing these bearings "in house". Timken is available worldwide and you should be able to find them in Argentina. In fact, many Timken bearings are now made in Brazil.
