My wife just called and said pieces of the already cracked back bumper have fallen off. What's a good source for a replacement 1975 back bumper? The car is a nice driver but will never be NCRS judged. Also, what's the opinion of the all fiberglass replacement?

Re: 1975 back bumper replacement.
Bill-----
Well, GM is not an option since this bumper in its exact, original form has been discontinued since about 1977. Even the 1975 SERVICE replacement bumper available after 1977 (the late 1976-79 PRODUCTION bumper) is now GM discontinued.
Eckler's reproduces the late 76 to 79 PRODUCTION urethane bumper which is used as the SERVICE bumper for 75- to early 76. This bumper lacks the "indentions" for the "C-O-R-V-E-T-T-E" letters for 75 and the indention for the Corvette script plate for 76 (something that I only recently learned existed in the original 75 and early 76 bumpers). The Ecklers bumper is made from the original GM molds and tooling. They cost about $500.
The Flex-Glass bumpers might be the way to go, though, although I don't know much about them. I do know that the original urethane bumpers just never seem to look right after a few years on the car, so the Flex-Glass might be an improvement over this. Of course, they won't be as resilient to "bumps" as the original urethane type.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
