What are the correct orientation of the inlet and outlet fuel connections for a '61 Corvette? Also, are they all the same from 230HP thru 315HP?
Looking down on the pump from the passenger fender, what clock position are the inlet and outlet? TIA, John.
John - I know this isn't the answer you want to read - BUT the exact answer to your question is in the 61/62 TIM/JG. If I could remember what it said or could find my copy, you would be reading the answer rather than this drivel. Best, Dennis
Looking down on the '61 stock 4656 pump from the top of the engine compartment, with the engine block at 12 o'clock, the inlet (from the tank) is at 4-5 o'clock and the outlet (to the carb) is at 7-8 o'clock. Yes, it's counterintuitive.
I believe the 4757 stock pump for '63s and up have the opposite inlet and outlet positions.
Some incorrect pumps can be made to fit the stock inlet and outlet locations by disconnecting their bottoms and rotating them to the correct position.
