Could anyone tell me the part number they used for a 63 powerglide transmission? I don't know if there is a part number for the assembly or if there are numbers for individual parts. I know the tail shaft is a one year only part. I know Chevy made three different versions of the powerglide in 63. For different vehicles. I'm not sure which number is correct for my car. I know it has a boss for the shifter. But the trans used in an Impala SS also has a similar boss. It is not the same. Thanks for the assistance.

Re: 63 Powerglide
The original production transmission assembly number was 3823449, which changed to 3834109 in October '62; changes were internal only. The production numbers were unique from anything in service, as the production transmission assembly included the torque converter and a shipping retainer plate for it.- Top

Re: 63 Powerglide
John, thanks for the response. I see a "63 Powerglide" on ebay. He listed casting number 382883. I don't know what that number might mean. It seems to have the correct tail housing. But I wouldn't want to end up with a powerglide for a Chevy II.- Top
