I am having trouble locating the 3-part base gasket set for the Holley 3810 carb on a 67 327-300 coupe I have. Can anyone point me to a supplier that has the two gaskets and the heat sheild available as a kit?? Or what part numbers may be if they are still available OEM? Thank you in advance for your input and assistance.

Absolutely correct. Originally, only a gasket and the stainless steel heat shield were used. The gasket goes on the manifold first, then the shield, then the carburetor. What happens is that some folks just can't accept that "it's supposed to be that way". So, they ADD a gasket between the shield and the carb. That's likely how Glenn's car may have wound up with gaskets "sandwiching" the shield.
The same scenario "plays out" with all 68-69 Corvette Q-Jet applications which use the same sort of shield and gasket installation.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

I'm pretty sure there was no "baffle" required with the aluminum intake/Holley combination, as there was no crossover heat passage up to the carb mounting pad on the aluminum intakes for the L-79 and L-76, unlike the iron manifolds with AFB's that DID have heat up there and required baffles. The L-76 section in the '65 A.I.M shows only a gasket.- Top

I have a bone stock 67 L-79 in which I experience gas boiling out of carb. I have purchased a 70 LT-1 heat spacer/shield and custom fabricated it to fit my stock 67. What should that sequence be. As the manifold has 2 small holes and 1 oval hole, should I go square gasket all the way, or start the the matching manifold gasket.- Top

I have a GM #3969835 aluminum carb heat shield hanging on the wall (I think it was a field TSB part for fuel percolating on an '82 or '83 Z/28), and both the shield and attached gasket have a big square opening.- Top
