I am in need of a "correct" jack and handle for my 59. I have heard about the repo jack units and they are obviously cheaper but I would appreciate hearing from people in the know as to how "correct" they really are. I will be going for a Top Flight and Bloomington Gold with the car. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your input. John

Re: C1 Repo Jack
I am at the same point regarding jack etc for my '61. Check out "original" unrestored jack on Pro-Team parts website for $550.00 ! compared to almost correct repo at Corv.central for $200. The original has uneven ridges/grooves along where the scissor-like parts meet. The repo's ridges/grooves are perfectly identical. It's not worth the points, so I have been told, to spend about a grand to have restored original jack, handle & wrench. Some might disagree, specially if $ is not the problem. I would like to go the original route, but $ is the problem with so many other higher point operational items coming first. Good Luck with your decision. Bruce #39024- Top

Re: C1 Repo Jack
Go with repo: It may not get caught but if it does, you're looking at one or two points out of 4500.The 500 to 700 bucks can usually be better spent on another area of the judging sheet and end up with higher score. Also, guys have been know to "modify" repos and advertise them as originals, not that Pro-Team would do such a dastardly thing. mike- Top

My original was stolen, ha ha...
At a restoration shop 15 years ago. Apart from originality and sentiment (original family owned car) the laugh was on the thief. My Dad used that jack for EVERYTHING for 20 years- It was so worn out I wouldna' lifted a lawn mower with it, it wobbled several inches. I got the CC jack, almost perfect match, and if I need to change tires on the way home from a show or something I would actually USE this one.- Top
