    Alternator decode

    Can't seem to track down what this alternator has come from-anybody have a GM parts book?
    1100548 63A 12v 3A2 HE6

    Pat, I am afraid you don't have a winning ticket...that alternator is not a Corvette part. I only have a Corvette parts book, so I can't tell you what it was on originally, but it's off a 73 GM vehicle of some other ilk. The date code is 3A2, i.e. 1973 January 2.

    There are two Corvette alternator part numbers (1100543, 1100554) that bracket this number (1100548). Since these two numbers are for 69-72 Corvettes, that establishes that the part number was probably first issued for a 1969 vehicle.
