    Strut rod heat shields

Last time I had my 63 coupe judged I got hammered for not having a heat shield on the strut rod bracket.

Does anybody know what these are and if someone at Carlisle may have them ?

    Re: Strut rod heat shields

The heat shields are thin(?18 ga) metal pieces spot welded to the bracket that the inboard side of each strut rod connects to. as i recall, they are unique to 63 only vets but my cerebrum in getting soft. look for bracket at carlisle. if you've got a friend with a 63 that still has the heat shield, photo them and go home and fabricate the two shields. shouldn't take more than a hour to fab and spot weld if you have a mig welder.good luck, mike
