Another stupid question. (I am getting really close to completing this XX years long project.) Any advice on a good way to revive the carpet section on the bottom of the doors on my 63 conv? The panels are in reasonable good shape except for this carpet band, so I don't want to replace the whole panel. I would welcome any ideas(on the carpet, that is).
Thanx,
Gary
PS XX years means I'm embarrassed at how long it has taken.
I used SEM interior dye on my 63 black panels. The same stuff that I used on the door panel uppers. You need to brush vigorously after it dries to keep the nap from being stiff. I think it worked very well.
you can dye it(available from al knoch, ads in driveline) or you can have local trim shop remove and resew carpet material (you ought to be able to purchase from al knoch). he'll be at carlisle this weekend. good luck, mike
