    c-1 interior paint color

Anyone know the name/number for the red interior on a 62? Is this called Roman Red like the exterior color? TIA David

It is the same "Roman Red" as the exterior. The difference is that it was originally unbuffed lacquer, hence a lower luster than the exterior. A lot of paint charts may not show the Roman red, but the 63-4 "Riverside Red" is exactly the same color and formula with a different name.

Again, it was originally the exact same paint. The exterior got buffed, the interior didn't. If you are using urethane or bc/cc, a little flattener would need to be added. I can't tell you how much, but it wouldn't be a lot. That's a pretty subjective thing.

Thanks again Ed, I have urethane flatener and will use about 5to10% by volume. The guy at the paint store said 30% is full on flat.I Have done this before and it works great. I might do the main dash full gloss, as I see others have done, but am not sure. What are your thoughts on this for a driver? David

I did a 59 dash cluster in full gloss black urethane for a customer a few months ago. It looked ok. If it had been mine, I'd have gone with a little bit of flattener, 5% or so.
