I got dinged recently in Flight judging for having a 2nd Edition (April, 1967) owner's manual in my June, 1967-built car; is a June '67 car supposed to have a first-edition manual?

Re: '67 Owner's Manual Date?
John,
The owners manuals were put in the car at the end of the assembly line. We all know there is commonly running change overlap on dates for any corvette part, so what is the logic for the deduct you took???? As you know there is no black and white answer for most of these date questions, but your situation seems pretty clear. I wouldn't even consider a first edition for your car as it is more incorrect than the second edition is correct. Besides 67 first editions are one of the most difficult and costly owners manuals to locate.- Top

This may help you make
a decision http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=34215 as to consider having both editions just in case the next judge telegraphs their position on the correct manual. BTW missed you at Carlisle. – Mark #35760- Top

Re: This may help you make
$356.00 doesn't quite fit in my "Most points for the least bucks" equation, especially for one originality point ; just wondered why I got dinged for having an April manual in my June car. Anybody know?- Top

Re: This may help you make
John,
I have a late 67 VIN 122827. I have a 1st edition manual that looks to be original by its condition and from discussion with a previous owner. There was prior discussion on this board and someone chimed in that was familiar with how the manuals were selected. He stated that a late 67 could have either edition due to the fact that they were taken randomly from a bin and a first in first out system was not used.
