While at Carlisle last week I was told by a very well respected Corvette restorer that for a short period of time, Vin's 13000 to about 14500 I believe, the 351 block had a "gusset" that other 351 blocks did not. Is anyone familiar with this issue and if so can you please explain where and exactly what to look for in the way of said "gusset". Thanks for your help.
All 396 1965 vet engine cases had gussetts and i've seen a few early 66 942 cases with the 396 style gussetts but i've never seen a gussetted 351 big block case. the all aluminum 70 ZL1 case is also purported to be gussetted.mike
