Machine Shop recommendations for C3 engine

    Hi Folks,

I'm at the point in the complete rebuild of my 77' where I'd like to send out the TH350 tranny for a soft rebuild, the engine heads for valve work and resurface and the block deck resurfaced (crank to be checked as well of course). Actually the engine in general, lifters, rockers, camshaft look pretty good. Almost no visible wear in some areas. I changed to synthetic more than 10 years ago.

I'm looking for any recommendation about a Toronto, Ontario, Canada area machine shop to work the engine and a tranny shop people have faith in. A friend of mine in a large local parts dealer had little faith in the people they use and machine shops in general. Since I'm just north of the city, if you know of shops in Markham that would be best but quality is what's important.

    Cheers All

    Michael,

Remember, if you deck the block, you lose the all-important original engine stampings ("the numbers" that are supposed to match) and your 77 loses about $2000 in value (and that's American $ ).

Most of us don't do that unless there is a drastic reason to do so, and it doesn't sound like there is in your case.

    Just a thought.

      Hi Michael,
I live in Oakville and had my 67/427 done at Beatty and Woods in the Mississauga/Brampton area.

guys in the Ontario Chapter and ask them where they go?

Gary Bishop drops by once in a while and Scott Sinclair lurks here now and then.......

          Hi Mike,

I'm not a member of the Ontario chapter but I can always send them an email though the web page. (I assume that's what you meant).

          Thanks for the suggestion.
