    Brake and fuel lines

I bought new brake and fuel lines, and for shipping they were bent in a wide arc 180. What is the best way to safely "unbend" them?

That's the way mine came from CC also. I am going to lay on a flat surface and slowly lay out flat. Maybe someone else has a better method?? Where did you get the correct clips and clamps for mounting to the frame?

I unbent mine on a table using the table for support. Came out much better than I feared.

I know this may not be much help for those who are trying to untwist their brake and/or fuel line shipments, but for those who can buy the lines in person at a show, that's the way to go. I purchased replacement brake lines at Spring Carlisle a few years ago and didn't have to worry about unbending the lines. It also helped that I had a Suburban to toss them in while I did more bargain hunting.

If you garage floor is nice and flat, firmly but not aggressivley secure one end of the line and un-roll the line opposite the curl you now have.

The trick is to keep the line firmly against the surface as you work along so that it can't bridge up. If you do it slowly, there will be no risk of pinched lines.

Yep, I've used the good old garage floor. Depending on the length, sometimes a second person comes in handy. Not sure if this is a good description, but bend it 'past center' a tad so it ends up nice and straight.
