    70 LT1 engine stamp

Check out the photo of the stamp. I've never seen anything like it.

Seems like a nice car to have received a Silver at 92%.

I wonder if the stamp was an issue.

Anyone who was at the Meet know?

pat and chris: double stamping of vin deriv. could and may well be a factory anamoly BUT apparant absence of broach marks is suspicious . however photos usually don't reveal broch marks even if they are present. mike

Mike, I would bet my money it was original, visible broach marks or not. I mean, what's a restamper going to say: "OOOPS...Nearly missed the freakin' pad (Man, I am hung over today!). I'll just stamp it again here in the middle."? :-)

chuck: i know of a texas member who intentionaly stamped the vin derivative upside down on a restamped pad in an attempt to fool the judges. he told me so after we finished judging the 435 at cyprus in the 80's. mike

Mike, that's ingenious...the old Trojan Horse diversion. And, that was in the 80s, too. There's no limit to man's avarice except his ingenuity.

              Mike,

My 71 has a double VIN derivative stamp on the transmission. Factory anomaly absolutely.
