    C2/C3 Front Spring ID

I'm trying to identify a set of front springs with green tags coded "AM". Any idea what C2/C3 these are for, and what the spring rate might be?

    Thanks,

    Mike S

Mike I found AM as part number 3996364 in 1980 and 1981 but no weight in this book. Lyle

I don't know if you're looking in the P&A...mines a Dec 83 edition but it references the AM under 1980 passenger vehicle while Corvette shows the same number used from 80-82 with the broadcast code as shown below. Top two are standard suspension...bottom FE7

      1400398 BHD Under 780
      1400399 BHF Over 780
      14021601 BHJ Under 812
      14021602 BHK Over 812

I've got an 82 AIMs and it confirms these numbers. In some years, the AIM includes a Trim Height section and the coils are referenced there to show assembly workers how to tweak the suspension to get it at the right height. I don't have an 80...but that would be a place to check. I suspect it may reference the above.

          Correction

Sorry - don't know if I'm losing my eyesight or my mind. After gently cleaning the green tag, I see the code is actually "MG" with the number 331319.

Spring rating is over 844 lb/in...pretty hefty! These are the stiffest spring offered in 73 for base.
