C1 Fresh air hose clamps color?

I ordered the fresh air hose w/brackets that delivers fresh air from the front of the car to the heater/vent on the firewall from Corvette Central. The brackets that connect each end are plain metal, unpainted. Should they be painted black or left the natural shiney metal color?

They should be semi-gloss black with unpainted CAD phillips head screws.

The hose clamps are unpainted cad plated; the two brackets are painted with unpainted phillips head screws.

Clarification: C1 Fresh air hose

Please allow me to clarify my question. The car is a '57. I used the term "clamp" in my header and "bracket" in my question. I think the proper term is "clamp" which is the part that tightens down on each end of the hose about 1/2" from the end. The term "bracket" refers to the balf cireular-shaped open support that is mounted on the inner fender wall about half way down the hose.

I'm sure the bracket is semi-glossy black. My uncertainty is whether the clamps are black or cad?

The fresh air hose clamps (at the ends, to the rad support collar and at the heater air inlet) are zinc-cad plated.
