Source for Vehicle Certification Label Info.

The Vehicle Certification Label (VCL) for a '72 should have GVW's, axle loads, etc. info. Much of this info. varies depending upon the drivetrain in your particular car. Does anyone know of a source for obtaining this info.?

    Kevin,
The only source of this info that I am aware of is to find a car equiped like yours and get the info off of their sticker. Have seen several looking but that seems to be the only solution that they found.

      My car is as follows:

      '72 convertible
      350/200hp
      M-20 wide-ratio 4-spd
      3.36 posi
      No PS, PB, or A/C

Pretty generic car. If anyone has the same setup, and has their original vehicle certification label, or knows the info. that should be on it, please let me know.

      Thx,

Terry our editor of the Restorer took lots of pics but did he try to keep track of the options I don't know. Terry can you help? Lyle

I made no effort to keep track of options on the cars I photographed. My focus was the details that separate a real label from the others. Obviously one can tell body style by the VIN, but that is far short of what Kevin wants. I am aware of no list that would help with that detail, which means that the judges will not know either. It would be a good research project for someone with an interest in that area.

              Terry,

Would you mind emailing me a few pics of '72 VCL's, particularly if you can identify them as convertibles? I believe this will give me approximately the GVW, axle load, etc. info. I need for my label. If you wish to "black out" the VIN#'s first, please do so.
