I bought a swap meet fan for my 73 that had the (H) and was marked front as I thought I needed. This is what I have 17 1/4 inch five blade marked Front (H) 66 on the front side and 35 on the back. This fan would not fit over my fan clutch as the hole was too small. Any ideas what it was used on. Lyle

The fan blade you have was used on several 1966 through 1970 Corvette applications. This blade assembly was likely GM #3888366.
1960 through 1970 Corvettes with fan clutch used a fan with a 2-3/8" center hole and a 3" fan clutch mounting bolt circle. 1971-82 Corvettes used a fan with a 2-5/8" center hole and a 3-1/4" fan clutch mounting bolt circle. The mounting flange of the 71-82 style fan clutches will not fit through the 2-3/8" hole of the earlier fans NOR will the 71-82 clutches bolt up to the earlier fans even if you could get the flange through the hole.
You can use the earlier style fan if you use an aftermarket fan clutch with a one-size-fits-all mounting flange (slots instead of holes), a mounting lug bolt pattern for the 3" bolt circle, and a 3/4" pilot hole. You can't use the fan blade assembly with any GM 71+ fan clutch, though. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
