Bought a pair of trans shaft plastic covers. They are black plastic and per the 66 judging naunal they were on one or both sides on mid to late 66's. Can't figure out how to install them since the end of the knurled shaft dia. is bigger than the cover end. Looks like the plastic may need to be slit or forced over the knurled end? Any ideas? I'm certainly not going to disassemble the wiper trans. to install these things.
Dave, I installed a new pair on my 66 and they install fine. I soaked them in some warm water to soften them a bit and they slid and stretched over the ends. After they are on they will tighten up fine. No special cutting needed.
