What is the best material to use as KO wheel safety pins? I'd like to find a cheap source for some type of wire stock and cut my own. Any suggestions?

Dan, I went to a local hardware store and bought steel pins the same diameter as the aluminum ones. Has worked great for 2 years now. I periodicaly pull the caps and check for any movement in the K/O. Blake- Top

Re: C2: KO wheel safety pins - what to use?
The aluminum pins that are supplied with the repro KO's are standard tapered dowels available from most hardware stores, also available in steel which is what I use. The OAL is 1.050", large dia. is .192", small dia. is .175". I have never had a spinner start to come loose, but if one did, I don't want it to partially shear a soft aluminum pin that then would be the dickens to remove, especially if I had to remove one that was partially sheared while changing a flat away from home(and away from my tools).- Top
