C2- Ignition change and idle problems

I am at the end of my rope! Trying to get a 67 300HP,powerglide coupe to idle properly(will not idle in gear). Pretty much given up on it being carburator, tried it all other than a different carb altogether. Now I am picking on the ignition..it has a Pertronix? system in it. I am going to change back to original points/cond configuration. My concern is...can I put in the UNISET points/cond combo or should I go to the points and condenser separatly?? Also would like to know if there are any "make sure's" when going from Pertronix to standard ignition, as I didn't put the electronic version on the car. I should mention the car is very original,ie(dist, carb, intake, exh, etc). Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions.Truly appreciated.

If I don't fix this soon it won't matter, I'll be buying a C5 that I can drive regularily.

You can definitely use a Uniset-type point set in your distributor and I highly recommend them over the seperate points and condensor. For one thing, the Uniset will reduce radio interference. Plus, there are other functional advantages.

If you need to re-run a wire to the neg. side of the coil make sure you seal the wire as it leave the bottom of the distributor with silicone.

I just converted an old Buick 455 back to uni-points without a problem.

      Good Luck
