    DELCO "REACTEC" SHOCKS

I am trying to locate a set of Delco "Reactec" shocks, GM22065208/07 for my 67. GMPARTSDIRECT.com shows only the 208 available. I am being told that the 207 was changed to a new part# around '98. I don't know if it physically looks the same, and I was wondering if anyone has recently been able to find them using these #s. I haven't been able to fomd them using Delco# 560-50/51 either.

      Rob----

The GM #22065207 (Delco #560-51) rear shocks have been discontinued and the supply has pretty well dried up. The GM #22065208 (Delco #560-50) front shocks are still available until current stocks are exhausted, which may or may not have happened yet.

The GM #22065207 have been replaced by GM #88947653 (Delco #530-315). The GM #22065208 have or will be replaced by GM #88945172 (Delco #530-4). The 22065207/22065208 shocks were configured virtually identical (except for "numbers" and "dates", of course) to the original standard suspension shocks supplied with 63-82 Corvettes, but provided superior perfomance.

The GM #88947653 rear shocks are GENERALLY configured like the 22065207. However, there are differences which are easily discernable. The GM #88945172 front shocks are configured quite a bit differently than the 22065208. How either of these shocks perform, I have no knowledge. I would expect that they perform well.

I do believe that the new shocks are not a product of the Delco Chassis Parts operation in Dayton, OH (now part of DELPHI) which manufactured PRODUCTION and SERVICE Corvette shock absorbers for many years. I think that they may be manufactured be de Carbon (also a DELPHI or GM entity, I believe) or some other shock manufacturer (like Gabriel or Monroe).
