    Trunk floor

Hi. I have a 1960. Can you please tell me what the removable trunk floor is made of. Is it wood? The one I have seems to be made of wood. I was wondering if it is original. I also noticed on the wall between the trunk and the passenger compartment, "Silver" is written on the wall in green. I am assuming this it the color of the car. Would they have originally written it in green? Thanks!

Yes, I believe that the "removeable trunk floor" also known as the spare tire cover for most, if not all, C1s was originally fabricated of plywood.

Also, the handwritten "silver" referred to the exterior color of the car and was often applied in just the area that you described. As far as color of the grease pencil used to apply it, I don't think that there was a "standard" color.

      Erick ...
3/8 inch (5) laminated layers of plywood, stained black transparent stain. You assumed correctly on the color, also the job number is written in green on the Passenager door.
