I'm sure this question has probably been asked and answered a 100 times already, so I must apologize in advance because I am new to the board. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure for a complete repaint of a 1967 Coupe. A previous owner had the car painted white, and I would like to have it changed back to the original Marlboro Maroon. I intend to drive the car on occasion if that makes a difference. Thanks, Joe

Re: Paint Cost
Joe-----
A lot depends on where you live since the "cost of living" and "supply and demand" affect the price you'll pay for a paint job. However, assuming that you're after a factory-type paint job with "all the t*******s" (i.e. complete paint stripping and/or preparation with primer coat, all external trim, bumpers and emblems removed prior to painting, etc.), and performed by someone who knows what they're doing, the cost is going to be in the $6,500 to $10,000 range. This will apply whether you're going to have it done in lacquer (if you can find anyone to do it in your area) or with modern basecoat/clearcoat paints. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Paint Cost
I agree with Joe's estimate and comments. However, once the car is stripped you may uncover some areas that may need body work. This is typical and will add to the cost of the paint job. It's diffficult to give an estimate on the cost of the body work. It would be a good idea to disscuss this with the guy who is going to paint the car.
