    C2 BC/CC waxing

Gentlemen: Had my '67 painted BC/CC two years ago, and while at a local show last weekend, I noticed that - compared to others - mine was lacking in luster just a tad, i.e. "sparkling or shining" effect, although by itself it looks terrific, thank you very much.

I have no complaint about the paint job. My question is, what do others use on a failrly newly painted BC/CC car for waxing?

As instructed by my painter, I've never used hot water or soap to clean it up. Just cold water using a soft cotton cloth.

    Thanks.

      Tom -

You'll get lots of different preferences on this one; I like Meguiar's "Gold Class" liquid once a year - easy on, easy off, great shine, and it lasts. There are more exotic multi-stage products (more work), but I've never been able to justify all that extra time and effort for a gloss difference you can only see with an X-Rite profilometer

        Tom,

I feel the best shine starts with the prep work before the wax goes on. I like to clean and polish the paint with 3M Imperial Hand Glaze before putting on a carnauba wax (my personal favorite is Harly Wax). Using Maguiars Final Inspection helps extend the life of the wax and shine.
