72 spare tire tub

I just got my spare tire (215/70/15) installed on my new wheel (15x8) and it fit perfectly but it looks like if you hit a good bump on the road that the spare tire carrier bolt that holdes the tire up would let the tire tub fall Because the tire weighs alot. It looks like it should have a washer or something. Should i do something to it? Or is this a thing that deffinatly would not happen? Thanks Eric

Eric If you get the bolt tight so the tub has no movement up and down it should be ok. I push up on the tub and tighten the bolt at the same time so as not to get it too tight . Lyle

Lyle, Thanks for the advice. Do you also know anything about the locks they sell for this? such as do they cover the bolt head or did it come orginaly come with a lock? Thanks Eric

Spare tir locks DO cover the bolt head and DID come with the car.
