We have a 68 cp that the pass. side door panel top screws have "pulled" through the actual panel ... both the of the panel screws have pulled through ... it looks as if someone (in the cars past) also "tried" to do some reapirs to the bottom edges of the panel by using home made brackets ... I think part of the intial problem is that the panel may be "warped" .. my question is 1) is there a good method for "fixing" the holes where the screws pulled through and 2) once a panel is warped is there any method to help get it back into the orginal shape

Re: C3 door panel repair
Well original door panels were made from molded cardboard stock, so it's tough to imagine how they can be 'warped'.... With the exception of, I believe, a special order to/through Al Knoch, NONE of today's reproduction door panels are cardboard and use vacuum formed plastic as the base material the vinyl/foam sets on. Still, if these are reproduction, made with plastic stock, door panels they ought to snug properly into position with correct fasteners and installation.
On whether torn vinyl can be repaired, that's easy--or course! If it's a modest tear in something simple like black vinyl, you might attempt the repair yourself using the vinyl repair kits available from most auto parts stores. If it's a big or complex breach and/or you want the job done 'perfectly' then it's time to shop around your neck of the woods for a professional vinyl man (guys who do 'invisible' repair work for restaurants, Etc.)....- Top

Jack:
I have a set of CA door panels which I installed on my 1968. They have not really fit right from the day I bought them. I seem to recall a posting that said when the plactic base is mass produced and stored they warp. I can tell you the set I have surely did.
