. I have looked at my 1968 AIM many times and could not see how these door wedges/plates work .. it appears as if they are made from a wedge shape material and mounted on the door ( narrow edge inward .. sometimes with a spacer) and a wedge on the rear jamb area(with narrow wedge outward) .. in order to add support they would need to come into contact with each other when the door is closed and would only yield support (alignment/spacing) forward and backwards not up or down. Am I missing somehting .. How critical to the operation and protection of the door are these pieces?

Re: CE door wedge
Dale and Abigail,
I think you are right on with your thinking as you have described in your post. These items were all missing on my 67 conv. when I purchased it so I bought a kit from Paragon that included the wedges and spacers. When driving down the road the doors move around when going over bumps etc. and the wedges keep the edge of the doors from hitting body panel. Also when jacking the car this can happen. My 67 also has them for the conv. top lid.
