As for tying down the car, I was told to tie the car down by the frame. Should I tie the rear down by the frame(in front of the last crossmember)? As for the front, since I cannot get to the frame, should I use a tire tie down(a strap net that goes over the tire)? Thank you.

I agree with Mike. That is the way I allways tie C1 cars down as well. You almost have to cross the front straps to keep the straps away from the body under the radiator. I use short axle straps on the front and rear that have a free-floating protective sleeve on them to prevent chafing. You should be able to find them almost everywhere.

Mikie, Do you also suggest latching and locking the rear door of the trailer, or have you just learned to also tie down your suitcases ??? And, have you ever had a car exit the trailer because it was not tied down at all??? I'm sure your friends here would love your comments on these two issues. Your close friend in Lyle, WA- Top
