I have a mid year vent window regulator that I need help in identifying. I believe it's out of a 65 or 66 roadster passenger side door but I'm not positive. The part number is 3824303 and the shaft has 3 grooves. Any info appreciated.

Re: Mid Year vent window regulator
Rich, I wrote an article about regulators for the "Restorer" a year or so ago. I beleive the three ring was for 1963 - 1965 roadsters (room for error and speculation here as to ending date). It was serviced by GM with a two ring one that was designed for 65 - 67 coupes. Come to me off line or call me at home at 704-847-5408 and I will tell you how to rebuild it. I have lots of blueprints from the GM plant that assembled them, unfortunately Paragon has the drawings for the die cast gear that goes bad so often.Founder - Carolinas Chapter NCRS- Top

Re: Mid Year vent window regulator
Clup, I agree, passenger cars are a great source for replacement parts. The internals are almost identical and interchangeable and in some cases the housing are close enough to work. The shafts vary greatly but usually the old Corvette shaft is ok. However, as you know, they are a real pain to get to them with the door panels on and one really needs one to go after it.Founder - Carolinas Chapter NCRS- Top
