    67 L-88 Black Convertible

I was picking up a part I bought on E-bay in Waerford Michigan Saturday and it turned out to be at shop that builds vintage race cars. I seen the body of the 67 L-88 black convertible and their were boxes of parts. The owner of the shop had put this 67 back in a race body and showed me the pictures. He said it was at Montery this year. Could I have seen this rare of a 67? I should have bought a lottery ticket with that kind of luck. Lyle

an ex-midatlantic member, ralph warlor(spelling?) said he bought such a l-88 new when he lived in texas and sold it a few years later. if the one you saw, perhaps its ralph's old one. haven't heard from ralph in near 20 years. mike

Mike The story went that it was raced then restored and got Blomington Gold .Don't know if it was judged NCRS. The present owner from California had it put back to the race body with a doner body and kept the restored body and parts so it could be put back to the regular body. Lyle

Mikie, how dare you defame "Honest Uncle Billy Clements" name. We all know the source of Trim Tags, SEDCO tags, etc. To accuse him of fabricating something. Perish the thought.

bill; you get the 6 pk. Sedco was a clandestine GM operation headed by Vince Piggins based in atlanta in early 57 wherein they took delivery of about 40 57 150 chev 6 cyl 3 spd cars and converted them into 283 hp heavy suspended NASCA potentials. These became the Black Widows. mike

And there in rests the problem. the d--- nice paper could have resulted in mjultiple cars. After all how many pieces of paper do you need to prove it is real?

-------Was just on Peter DeLorenzos Autoextremist website and,to my surprize, spotted his brother Tonys black/blue stripe L88 on the track at the Laguna Seca Historics this year looking for all the world just as it did when it was raced. Now,I know that it was restored, but I guess Larry Bowman, the current owner, did in fact take the original restored body off and put on a duplicate. It seems that most everybody here is correct!.........Im impressed!...........Bill S

Bill You have the names posted that I was told. The current owner is not building another car just saving the parts to put it back to original if he wants to at a later date. That is what I was told. Lyle
