    c1 wiper motor problem

I recently purchased a restored wiper motor from Carlile,Penn. The older gentleman seemed very knowlegable and even date coded my motor with ink stamps. Here's the problem, when I installed it on my 61, I can't get it to shut completely off. It will run on slow and fast and reacts to the bowden cable when moved. However, It won't shut off or park. The person who sold it even changed out the plastic parts from my original.
Did I do something wrong when I installed it? Is there an adjustment I need to make? Remember, I can't get it to shut off even with the cable not hooked up. Pleas help, I'm frustrated. Looking for any response.

Try taking the cover off and see if it will shut off manually. You will see contacts in their. They might need adjusted.

Check the ST-12 manual for adjustment procedures. There is a stud inside the cover that can be adjusted to stop this "runaway" condition.

Good advice. Also, the cable may need a bit of tweaking. If it will shut off manually, either the cable or the switch needs just a bit of adjusting. Be sure the cable is securely fastened at the motor. Any flexing or movement there would be enough to give a problem.
