I recently acquired my 65 (327 - 365 vert, not that such is relevant to this query!) and it didn't have the seat belt retractors (not that THAT is relevant to the question of what was orignally a part of this car). At first, I was going to order a set, but I recall reading somewhere (perhaps in Noland Adma's Tech guide to mid years) that the implementation of seat belt retractors came after my build date (April 6) so I quit this effort. I have since seen a few "NCRS-correct" 65s with the retractors, and some of these are earlier than my production number. So, do I revive my earlier effort to locate proper retractors? Thanks in advance.

Re: Seat Belt Retractors - When in 65?
I have owned cars as early as #838 and all have had the retractors. I believe the april date was when the orange instruction tag was added.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Noland's text reads:
"....At the start of 1965 production, seat belts did not have retractors. Random examples with retractors have been reported up to serial number 105510 (5,510). But, beginning with 105733 (5,733), most reported retractors on their seat belts."- Top
