blocking relay jerry wallace the cars that are equipped with a c used an anti diesel relay in conjunction with a blocking relay when the ignition switch is turned off the anti diesel relay will engage the a c compressor for about seconds more or less and then disengage to help stall the engine at the same time from what i understand the blower motor should kick on high for about the same amount of time i have also heard the blocking relay should prevent the fan from coming on my question is should the fan engage or not my fan does not if it should how do i go about tracing the problem to find out why jerry

re blocking relay rolf krueger there is confusion on this point because some chevy vehicles did it one way and some did it the other way on inch wb impala and camaro the blower came on seconds when the ignition was switched off on inch wb chevelle monte carlo nova and corvette the blower did not come on when the ignition was switched off the blocking relay is in the circuit in these latter vehicles specifically to prevent block the blower from running in this time period your corvette is working properly if you switch off the ignition and the ac compressor clutch engages seconds and your blower does not come on during this time there is a write up and a wiring diagram in the chevrolet service manual ac section on this matter and there is also a wiring diagram in the corvette assembly manual- Top
