71 LS5 air cleaner color

what is the correct finish on the 71 LS5 dual snorkel air cleaner. flat, semi flat or gloss. mine is flat others i have seen are gloss. while on the finish issue what is the finish on the engine compartment?

The air cleaner base should be gloss. The engine compartment is semi-gloss.

I know it's somewhat a matter of opinion and interpretation, but I might call the engine compartment black-out paint closer to a Medium gloss than Semi-gloss, such as what is seen on you alternator brackets, etc.

The engine compartment black-out paints from Eastwood or Quanta are quite close.

Patrick --- As the terms "medium" and "semi" both imply a mid-point between flat and glossy, which of the two should be "duller" ?

I should have more correctly said either Satin, or possibly "eggshell" rather than medium. In my eyes (and the paint store's), semi-gloss is glossier than Satin or Eggshell.
