    PF-35

Did any Corvettes ever come from the factory with a PF-35 oil filter? Thanks Bob

      Bob,
PF-35's are a larger capacity version of the PF-25's and were made for use in GM trucks.

Thanks I just purchased two PF-25's one white (embossed on the top) one blue large label from the mid 70's and also in the deal was a PF-35 large label also from the mid 70's I knew trucks used them but wondered if they were ever used on a corvette. Bob

          Re: PF-35

The PF-35 along with the PF-25 was used with the AC K157 (6438357) oil filter conversion kit used to convert the origional canister configuration to the "spin on".
The PF-35 was recently discontinued. I am in need of some PF-35s. Does anyone have suggestions??

Basically, the PF-1218 replaces the PF-35. The 1218 has exactly the same size cannister. The difference is that the PF-1218 has a check valve whereas the PF-35 does not. This creates no problems, whatsoever, for applications not requiring a check valve.

              Re: PF-35

I always used the PF-35 on my mid-year and shark daily drivers. I always felt that it gave me a bit more protection for the money. Then, when I bought my used '85 and installed a PF-35 under that oil-cooler take-off block, the filter extended below the pan. Sure enough, it got clipped and I had a mess to clean up.
