    C3 Leaf Springs

Any special method to use to remove the rear leaf springs? I am going to replace the rubber bushings on both ends of the bolts. I have the car up on Jack stands now. Thanks for the help.

If all you're going to do is replace the rubber CUSHIONS on the spring bolts, then you don't need to remove the spring. The procedure for removing the end bolts can be found in your factory service manual under "spring removal". However, all you need to do is go as far as the end bolt removal. Using the floor jack described in the procedure in combination with the c-clamp and block of wood described to keep the jack from slipping, simply raise the spring enough to take the tension off the nut at the bottom. The bolt will now be "loose". Then, remove the cotter pin from the nut, remove the nut, and pull the bolt out from the top. Reverse the procedure to install new cushions. Then, repeat the procedure for the other side. Very simple.
