I bought a master cylinder for my beater at Autozone today and it has the bleaders as original 73,s had. It is casting number 5468309 and I would like to know what it was used on? My core was the common replacement. Lyle

Lyle-----
I think that the casting number is 5466309, but it's possible that it's 5468309-----"6" and "8" are so hard to distinguish on casting numbers. In any event, the "309" casting was used for 1-1/8" bore Corvette power brake master cylinders from 1968 to about 1973 and, possibly, later. This master cylinder was used alternately with the 5480346.
The "309" master cylinder CASTING may have been used for other applications besides Corvette, too. In Corvette configuration, it should have the stamping on the front machined area of "PG". There may have been one other stamped code used on Corvettes, but I've forgotten what it is.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Ahhhhhhh Oh. Joe said he has forgotten a code. We are in deep trouble now. If Joe CRS, then ...

PS I'm up to my ears in wood doors, jambs, baseboards, trim, moldings, sills. I love it. Wood has such a rich natural feeling and warmth. Fiberglass is different.- Top

Thanks Joe The machined area looks rough like it was heavy bead blasted and not smooth as I usally see. Their is a triangle and some numbers but they appear like rebuilder marks not the normal stamping. It was bought for a power brakes Corvette. LyleLyle
