My 64's front pad number is CE9N42352S 1206XCB with a block casting number of 3959512. The exhaust and intake manifolds have numbers which indicate a 64. They along with the cylinder head are most likely original. Any ideas on the block ? I believe the car was originally a 327/300.

Your engine is a replacement engine probably installed under warranty early in the car's life or an over-the-counter engine installed later. I've never been able to come up with any info on this casting number, so either it was used for crate engines only or it was used primarily in trucks. The casting number sequence makes me feel like it was about a 1968 or 1969-issued number.In Appreciation of John Hinckley -
