Borg Warner A112HP points for '58 - '73 models

I got my special order BW point sets through Pep Boys yesterday, and they are just fine. I would hope so for $18 a set.

They came in Borg Warner boxes printed with "A112HP" and "Made In USA". I tested one set for spring tension. It took about 32 oz. of pull at the rubbing block to open the points .020". My test set-up was crude, but I think it confirmed that these points do have the slightly higher tension spring band.

The common points are 19-23 oz. and the high breaker arm tension type are speced at 28-32oz., so the A112HP appears to be the real McCoy.

I also recall that the Delco D112P high breaker arm tension set had a larger contact surface than the D106P set.

Is my memory playing tricks on me, again?

Do the B-W A112HP appear to have a larger contact area than the common 19-23 oz. point sets.

Yep, I think so.

They look bigger to me and are "ventilated" with a hole in the middle of the stationary side.

after reading some advice from Duke a while back, I too picked up a handful of these BW points for the higher revving SHP (65 L76 in my garage) since I wanted to stock up on a tune up item. They look like what Jerry describes. And they cost me a bit too - and the boxes looked like they had travelled far.
