    66 Tachometer Trouble

I recently replaced the old drive cable because my tach was acting funny (not reading right and being real erratic). I figured I would test it by hooking it up to a drill and running it, but when I did, it did absolutely nothing. Does the ignition have to be on (I havent tried this, because I just put in a new motor and havent hooked up the wiring), or is my tach faulty? Is there anyway to fix it without pulling the cluster out? Thanks, Dan

    Try reversing the drill.
