59-61 FI fuel filter

A friend of mine is looking for a fuel filter element for his 61 FI car. All I have been able to locate so far is the complete filter assembly for $175. Does someone offer just the element?

I believe it uses AC# GF157 that was a good number a few years ago. If it is no longer avaiable from AC try the F.I. specialists. Don H.

ed; fram had an element when i did my 61 fi about 7 years ago. didn' t buy any extras so i don't have their part #. mike

NAPA part# 3271. List price, $5.32, net $3.39. This is supposed to be a direct cross to a GF 157. Looks like the right piece, but my buddy has not installed it yet.

I'm surprised that none of the catalogs I looked in listed the part, if it is this readily available.
