    turn signal cancel mech.

The turn signal on my 1970 won't cancel automatically after completing a left turn. (Works fine following a right turn) What part is most likely broken? I'd like to have the replacement part on hand when I take it apart rather than do the job twice or leave it undriveable for a week. (It is summer!!) Any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

Jon, I'd try to have a new (or good used) Cancelling cam, Original P/n 7804768, then changed to 7812210 in '73. They were comm to many GM carlines, per the price book, so a "doner shouldn't be too hard to find at a boneyard. Many of the other parts in the T/S switch were also common with Pass car of that era also.

        Jon----

The GM #7812210 turn signal cam conversion kit that Bill Clupper spoke of is still available from GM. Current list price is $12.20. I'd also get the left and right cancelling springs, GM #1964785 and 1964784, respectively, which list for $0.54 each. If you live in the Denver, CO area, Burt Chevrolet in Englewood and Daniels Motors in Colorado Springs each have all of these parts in stock.

Bill and Joe - thanks for your prompt and helpful responses. I'm ready to get going on this long-postponed little project.
