    1967 Interior-Saddle or Dark Saddle?

Are there two versions of the saddle interior in 1967? Some vendors refer to saddle and others to dark saddle.

Would you believe it's actually medium saddle?

      Paul,
I was going to stay out of this one because I wasn't sure that I had any great input, but perhaps there's an explanation for at least two saddle colors.

If you refer to the NCRS 1953-1967 Corvette Specification Guide you will see that the interior color "saddle" was available from 1963-1965. It was also available in 1966 & 1967, but the name was changed to "medium saddle".

If the two colors are significantly different, this could explain why the after market guys have two colors both called saddle. Perhaps someone can tell you if there was a significant difference between the two.

Hope this helps, or at least brings others into the discussion.

      Regards,
      Gene

I am not sure where I am going with this. Perhaps nowhere. In the Corvette America catalogue there is a 1965-66 interior colour called saddle. And a 1967 interior called saddle. The latter is darker in the pics. I have a can of their #4319-53 interior dye (1967-72) labelled Dark Saddle. Antonick's Black Book refers to saddle and saddle also. Eckler's speaks of tan in 1965-66 and dark tan (saddle) in 1967. ZIP goes with saddle and saddle. And Mid-America mentions saddle for 1965-66 and dark saddle for 1963-64 and 1967. No mention of medium saddle. Hence my confusion. I will order by the year I guess.

          Paul,

If at all possible, order samples of the material you want. You will find that color DOES vary by manufacturer. Also, there are only 2-4 producers of interior parts, but LOTS of vendors. Odds are that what you buy from Catalog X may in fact be made by Corvette America, Al Knoch, or similar.

I've had the same problem with the blue interior for 1971. At least 4 or 5 different names, as I last counted.
